Well, I got to thinking, after gazing with a frown at the news, that it might be a good time to begin a blog concerning faith. The reason for this is that fewer people my age want anything to do with God. Mores the pity because these people have no concept of reality. Tell me, after watching the night sky on a clear evening and then considering the vastness of our planet along with the intricacies it takes for the plethora of life forms that live on this planet that this wasn’t a design. Go ahead, I’ll give you three days. Make that three months if it takes that long.

I come from a background of combat in Vietnam. So, I don’t begin this website lightly or with ego. I begin this slowly and ploddingly so that I do justice to what I believe and why I believe (know) that God is as real as you and I. For that matter, His son, Jesus, is also as real and as monumental a human being as has ever taken breath on this planet, or universe, for that matter. The problem isn’t with either of these, it is with us. We who think we’re smarter than the next person or disbelieve because it is the “thing” in certain groupings of individuals. Believe me, I’ve heard most of all of it that is spouted through sheer ignorance of the Word of God: the bible.

I began reading that book at age twelve all by myself with no prodding or Sunday school. Although I didn’t derive all that I should have I read it from cover to cover finishing around fifteen years old. It changed everything for me, having been raised a Catholic. I stopped going to that church once I had time to absorb all that I had read. That church, at that time, was not following Scripture but was involved in politics. God is not involved in politics any longer though one might derive that from the Old Testament. He did involve Himself in that age but after Jesus came along He no longer followed the Israelite’s. Jesus was His answer to what needed to come as civilization had sprung up and that is the difference in the timeline: civilization.

I will go slowly here as even what I placed above leaves out salient points by the thousands. It is a large task to do this right and I am up to it even though older than my audience by decades. I begin here at seventy-seven and, while I have time left to bring some of you along. I am glad to have this time for you.
